A Milestone for Circularity: Lucro wins two awards at the CII- Sustainable Plastic Packaging Awards, 2025.
At the first of its kind CII- Sustainable Plastic Packaging Awards, 2025, Lucro Brought home two honours:
Excellence for Incorporation of Recycled Content: Flexible Plastic Packaging for Shrink Wraps
Recognition for Incorporation of Recycled Content: Flexible Plastic Packaging for Raffia Bags.
For us at Lucro this award represents years of perseverance, innovation, and belief. Each of these products has undergone 3–4 years of intense R&D, trials, setbacks, and breakthroughs to reach the quality and performance we stand by today. To be recognised at the first-ever CII – Sustainable Plastic Packaging Awards, 2025—alongside iconic brands we grew up admiring like HUL, Colgate-Palmolive, ITC, PepsiCo, CavinKare, Pidilite and Tata Consumer Products—is a powerful validation. It’s a reminder that our vision for high-quality recycled packaging is leading the way. These awards are a big pat on the back, reaffirming that we are on the right path toward circularity at scale.
Our work focuses on one of the toughest waste streams in the industry: flexible plastics. Flexibles are notoriously difficult to collect, sort and recycle at scale—yet they represent a significant portion of India’s plastic footprint. And through it all, every Lucro product continues to offer complete traceability—from waste to worth—ensuring transparency and trust at every step.
Here’s a little insight into the 2 products:
Shrink wrap : Awarded Excellence for Incorporation of Recycled Content
Our Shrink wraps are made with up-to 70% post-consumer recycled content and have excellent tensile strength providing great puncture/tear resistance with higher clarity making them an optimal replacement for virgin shrink wraps. They are now used across various industries such as FMCG, beverages, retail, logistics, etc, and trusted by leading Indian brands such as HUL, Tata Consumer Products, Marico, Coca-Cola, and Castrol for sustainable secondary packaging.
Raffia bags: Awarded Recognition for Incorporation of Recycled Content
Our Raffia bags contain 30% post-consumer recycled content and deliver the strength needed for bulk and industrial packaging, all while serving as a seamless substitute for conventional woven bags. Leading companies such as HUL and Piramal have already transitioned their logistics operations to our recycled-grade solutions, reinforcing both performance and sustainability.
We are changing the way recycled packaging is viewed. Being recognised at a platform as prestigious as this gives us hope that the industry will increasingly look beyond compliance and embrace recycled materials as a core part of a holistic circular business model. Innovations like these are what have the power to shift mindsets at scale. And it is both refreshing and energising to win not just one but two awards, reminding us that even as a small part of this larger movement, our work is helping pave the way forward.
