More Recycled, Still Reliable: How Lucro Champions High PCR Content for Maximum Impact

At Lucro, sustainability comes with performance. Across our product lines, we use an average of 50% Post-Consumer Recyclate (PCR), with several products going as high as 100% PCR content. This is not just ahead of industry norms — it sets a new benchmark.

Our ability to do this consistently — without compromising the clarity, strength, or functionality of the material — is rooted in a deep understanding of plastics, proprietary formulations, and the material science expertise that powers everything we create.

PCR and Why It Matters

PCR, or post-consumer recyclate, refers to plastic that has completed its initial lifecycle and is recovered, recycled, and reused in new products. Using high PCR content reduces dependency on virgin plastic, cuts carbon emissions, conserves energy, and keeps valuable materials in circulation — a win for both business and the planet.

However, incorporating high percentages of PCR is not easy. It often impacts product quality, consistency, or appearance. That’s where Lucro stands apart.

Thanks to our Material Science Division and proprietary formulations, we’re able to push the boundaries of PCR content while maintaining — and often enhancing — product performance. Our recycling and compounding processes are fine-tuned to create PCR blends that are clean, strong, and suited for demanding applications.

This is why we’re able to confidently use:

  • Minimum 30% PCR in more sensitive, visibility-critical products
  • Up to 100% PCR in robust, industrial-grade and sustainability-driven packaging
  • An average of 50% PCR across our entire product range

And we’re just getting started.

Every product line is designed to meet industrial standards, ensure end-user satisfaction, and support our partners in achieving their sustainability goals.

EPR in India and the Push for Recycled Content

India’s Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations are evolving rapidly. Under the Plastic Waste Management Rules, producers, importers, and brand owners (PIBOs) are now obligated to not only collect and recycle post-consumer plastic waste but also use a minimum percentage of recycled plastic in their packaging.

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has mandated compulsory recycled content usage targets for different plastic categories. These targets will progressively increase year-on-year, pushing the industry toward a more circular and accountable model.

We have been ahead of the curve. Our products already meet and exceed these requirements, helping our customers:

  • Meet EPR targets with confidence
  • Avoid future compliance risks
  • Strengthen their sustainability claims with real numbers
  • Achieve lower Scope 3 emissions by design

Circularity is a product specification for us. Every product carries the story of recovery, reinvention, and responsibility. By embedding high PCR content into our products we’re creating impact at a high scale.
